You may have heard this before and it is very true, that the only thing left after your wedding day will be the pictures. It will be these captured moments that will hang on your wall, stand in a frame on your night table, or hang on the wall at your parents' house for many years to come, often a lifetime. Hiring a professional photographer is probably the most important thing you can do when planning your special day.

How we approach weddings
This is your special day and it should be treated as such. We want you to feel as relaxed as possible while we capture the best moments at your wedding. Our engagement sessions are a really great way to build trust and develop a good working relationship. We realize the importance of comfort when it comes to photography.

What will a typical wedding day include?

We absolutely love starting early and capturing shots of the girls and guys getting ready. Depending on how many photographers will shoot your big day, we may be on location simultaneously to capture everything. Then, we head over to a church for the ceremony. Many of the best photographs are taken here because they always show deep emotion. We strive to shoot a variety of styles throughout the ceremony from different angles and distances for best results.

Next, we head to a destination to shoot formals with everyone in the party or sometimes it's just the groom, bride and photographer off to do some "fashion meets wedding" photography on some downtown street or abandoned location. The urban style sessions are alot of fun and almost always result in really creative portraits. It's the kind of stuff that will wow your friends and have them wishing that they had done the same at their wedding. Keep in mind though, that the urban fashion style photography is demanding and will require time. It will require between 2 - 4 hours between the ceremony and reception. Is it worth it? You bet!

Lastly, we head over to the reception where we capture small details that will later compliment photo albums.

What are your wedding photography rates?
Our rates vary depending on level of service, the hours of photography coverage, and the other specifics of your personal requirements. All wedding packages include the rights to all of the images for personal use, a web page with the photographs for family and friends to view around the world and a DVD of digital negatives in high resolution.

How does the Maverick team work?
There will be either one or two photographers capturing your event. In all cases, there will always be an assistant to help with setting up lighting, details and help carry camera equipment.

What kind of equipment do you use?
After creativity comes quality. We use professional Canon digital cameras including the new Canon 5D Mark II (industry leader). We also use external lighting for more creative results. Our Toronto photography studio features professional lighting by Elinchrom and doubles as a complete mobile photo studio so we can even bring the photo studio to your location if required.

How do you dress for the wedding?
We usually dress casually while maintaining a clean and professional appearance. The reason for our casual dress code is comfort and foremost agility. We usually wear basic black dress pants with a black or white shirt and comfortable black shoes. If you would like us to wear a more formal attire, please let us know in advance and we can accomodate accordingly.
